Exclusive:Leeds United outcast Largie Ramazani backed to 'prove doubters wrong' after Burnley switch by ex-winger
A former Leeds United winger has backed Burnley’s Largie Ramazani to prove the Whites wrong
Largie Ramazani has the ability to “prove the doubters wrong” following his move from Leeds United to Burnley, according to ex-Whites winger Jermaine Pennant.
The 25-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements in the summer of 2025 and loaned to Valencia after helping Leeds clinch the Championship title.
He was frozen out upon his return from Spain and allowed to pen a loan deal containing a buy obligation at Burnley.
Nicky Hayen’s Clarets have endured a tough start to the Championship season, but Ramazani is up and running with a goal and an assist under his belt.

Jermaine Pennant on Largie Ramazani
Pennant, who spent the 2003/04 season on loan at Leeds from Arsenal, told The Yorkshire Post: “He can [prove Leeds wrong]. I think he was very important in the Championship run when he was there. He’s a decent player, a good player, and he just needed game time.
“It’s very difficult when you haven’t got bags and bags of game time to really get into a rhythm. We all need that. It doesn’t matter how good you are - if you’re playing little dribs and drabs of games here and there, you’re not going to be at your peak. You need continuity of games.
“With a new lease of life and a fresh start, playing week in, week out, I’m sure he can prove the doubters wrong at Leeds and go, ‘Look, this is what you maybe could have had’. But Leeds have got top players as well now, and they’ve invested well.”
Largie Ramazani’s Leeds United struggle
Ramazani offered glimpses of his ability at Elland Road, yet fans never felt he was fully trusted by manager Daniel Farke.
In August, before a new home for Ramazani was found, Farke said: “We make sure who is really in our plans for the next season and everyone who was in and is in our plans was with us during this [pre-season]. And the players who won't play a part in next season, they were not involved with the first team, of course.

“It's more like a different type of training then, because we can't just have players without a special position or a special task in the group. This would distract too much, and then there's more or less like talk in the dressing room about where do I go, or whatever.
“I just want us to stay focused. We need this, and for that, Largie was not involved in our training or with the games.
“So we'll see what the outcome in the solution in the end is. But yeah, all the players who were not involved with our group, they are also not in plans for next season.”
