A fresh claim regarding Leeds United target Jean-Mattéo Bahoya has emerged

The 21-year-old has emerged as a target for the Whites in the dying embers of the summer transfer window, with a pursuit ongoing with the deadline just hours away.

Jean-Mattéo Bahoya claim emerges

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has now claimed a deal has been agreed, with Bahoya supposedly set to join on an initial loan deal. Leeds will reportedly be obligated to buy the France youth international for €30m (£25.7m).

Posting on X, Romano said: “Jean Mattéo Bahoya to Leeds United, here we go! Deal agreed with also authorisation for medical.

“Loan with mandatory buy clause set at €30m package from Eintracht. Green light also from the player, as @Santi_J_FM reported. All set for LUFC.”

Wilfried Gnonto potentially on way out

Bahoya’s arrival could potentially enable Fiorentina to complete a deal for Wilfried Gnonto, who travelled back to his native Italy yesterday (August 31).

The 22-year-old has been pictured in Fiorentina colours but Leeds did not want to sanction his exit without having a replacement lined up.

Gnonto made just four Premier League starts last season and a move to Serie A could allow the wideman to breathe life back into his career.

Bahoya could be the second deadline day signing for Leeds, who are also thought to be closing in on the capture of defender Melvin Bard.

A left-back by trade, the 25-year-old is reportedly close to sealing a season-long loan switch from Nice in his native France.

The summer transfer window is due to close at 11pm tonight (September 1), therefore Leeds must act quickly.
