'Major changes' - Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph shares update amid ongoing injury rehabilitation
Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph has shared an update as he recovers from a serious injury
Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph is starting to see “major changes” as he works to recover from a serious injury.
The 22-year-old requested a move away from Elland Road last summer in a development that caught supporters off-guard.
He returned to his native Spain, sealing a season-long loan move to La Liga outfit Mallorca. Joseph made 30 appearances for the club, scoring twice, before succumbing to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in April.

A buy option was not included in the deal that took Joseph away from West Yorkshire and he is now back in Leeds colours as he works to recover from his setback.
Joseph has posted a series of pictures and videos of himself completing rehabilitation work in Leeds training gear on Instagram, accompanied by a caption reading: “The small improvements of the last few weeks are starting to turn into major changes; we continue to build.”
Recovering from an ACL injury is notoriously difficult, but Joseph has time firmly on his side at the age of 22.
Mateo Joseph’s Leeds United future
It remains to be seen whether the frontman has a future with the Whites, for whom he has made a total of 73 senior appearances.
He started Daniel Farke’s second season at the helm as the first-choice forward, only to end up beind dislodged by Joel Piroe.
It was after the club’s Championship title-winning campaign, during which he was a bit-part player, that Joseph requested an exit.

Speaking to The Yorkshire Post last month, Leeds icon Jermaine Beckford said: “Mateo has got talent. He's got technical ability. He's got good pace about him as well. We've seen when he's been with the under-21s how good he is at finishing.
“He's had a couple of decent goals as well for the first team, I remember the Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge. He's got it, he just needs to knuckle down, get rid of the external noise, focus on working his socks off, and I think he could [force his way back in].
“Do I think Daniel Farke and the hierarchy want to keep him knowing that he could possibly upset the apple cart? I'm not entirely sure. But it's for Mateo to come back and show that this is a new and improved version of himself. He's got the ability.”
