6.15pm: Former Sheffield United striker Jordan Slew, who joined Blackburn in a £1m deal in the last window, has joined Rotherham United on a loan deal.

6.00pm: Busy few minutes in Sheffield as United re-sign former striker Jonathan Forte on loan from Southampton and Wednesday release reserve striker Jarrod Kyle and left-back Mark Reynolds.

5.10pm: Everton have emerged as a potential destination for Barnsley defender John Stones who has been in talks with Wigan over a £3m move. David Moyes looks intent though on hijacking the bid.

4.47pm: Big news for Hull City, Ahmed Elmohamady has tweeted that he is heading back to the Tigers on loan from Sunderland. The Egyptian was a key player in the 3-5-2 formation that worked so well for Steve Bruce’s side in the first half of the season.

4.30pm: David Beckham unveiled at Paris St Germain on a deal until June 30.

3.55pm: Good signing for Barnsley, the Reds have drafted in Stoke’s Republic of Ireland international Rory Delap on a loan deal until the end of the season.

3.45pm: Mario Balotelli’s £19m move from man City to AC Milan is the biggest deal of the transfer window, but the biggest story of arguably the final day of January is David Beckham’s move to Paris St Germain. Former England captain expected to be unveiled at a news coneference in next few minutes.

3.30pm: The Stephen Warnock to Leeds United deal appears to still be alive, nearly 36 hours after it should have been completed. Still no definitive word from Leeds or Aston Villa.

2.50pm: Wednesday manager Dave Jones tells Yorkshire Post’s Richard Hercock that he is happy to allow striker Chris O’Grady join one of their rivals battling against relegation from the Championship. The former Rochdale striker has signed with Barnsley on loan until the end of the season. O’Grady had fallen down the Hillsborough pecking order and after originally rejecting an offer to move to Oakwall earlier this season under Keith Hill, the striker has now crossed over the M1 to Barnsley.

2.25pm: But the striker Boro were after, Danny Graham, has joined their north-east rivals Sunderland for a fee in the region of £5m.

2.20pm: Middlesbrough have completed their first piece of business of the entire window by signing former England international Keiron Dyer on a pay-as-you-play deal.

1.25pm: Barnsley have completed the signing of Chris O’Grady from Sheffield Wednesday, the striker joins Oakwell on a loan deal until the end of the season.

12.55pm: Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Rachubka extends loan stay at Accrington Stanley.

12.07pm: Leeds United confirm signing of Steve Morison as part of the Luciano Becchio to Norwich City deal. The exact deal is Norwich paying undisclosed fee plus Morison for the Argentinian striker.

11.48am: According to Yorkshire Post football writer Leon Wobschall, Chris O’Grady is set to move across South Yorkshire from Sheffield Wednesday to Barnsley, joining the Oakwell outfit on a loan deal until the end of the season.

11.40am: We understand that Leeds United have been given a 12pm deadline to complete the Stephen Warnock from aAston Villa deal. Which basically means 20 minutes.

11.30am: Barnsley understood to have accepted an offer for right-back John Stones from Premier League side Wigan, fee believed to be £3m.

11.28am: Nationally, David Beckham is set for a move to Paris St Germain.

11.25am: Sources in Ipswich report that Hull City are closing in on DJ Campbell, while at Bramall Lane, Sheffield United remain close to bringing in Barry Robson from North America.

11.20am: No sooner has Becchio passed his medical at Norwich than Steve Morison has passed his as part of the deal. Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay reports that there were no issues with Welsh striker’s thigh injury.

11.15am: Luciano Becchio has passed his medical at Norwich City with his move to the Premier League club inching ever closer. The deal is believed to be cash plus Steve Morison.

11am: Danny Graham’s agent says he has refused the chance to joins Championship side Middlesbrough.

10.30am: We are fully expecting a busy day at Leeds United with Steve Morison coming in from Norwich as part of a sqap deal with Luciano Becchio, plus Aston Villa full-back Stephen Warnock coming in on an 18-month deal.

10.15am: Middlesbrough are understood to have lodged a £5m bid for Swansea striker Danny Graham, who is also wanted by Sunderland.

10am: Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas anticipates limited activity at White Hart Lane on the final day of the transfer window.

Zeki Fryers and Lewis Holtby are the only arrivals so far this month and Villas-Boas does not expect any more.

“We look to be quiet in the market,” the Portuguese said. “It’s not impossible that a couple of things happen. It’s highly unlikely.

“We need to add quality to the squad and our quality to the squad is keeping the players we have now and Lewis arriving.”

There could be at least one departure, though. Tom Huddlestone was not in the squad for last night’s 1-1 draw at Norwich and has been allowed to speak to Fulham, the Spurs boss confirmed.
