Sheffield United have been credited with interest in a coveted Hull City defender

Sheffield United are reportedly keen to sign defender Cody Drameh from Hull City.

The 24-year-old has been on the books at the MKM Stadium since 2024, when he made the switch from Leeds United.

He has since racked up 57 appearances for the Tigers, facing stiff competition at right-back from club captain Lewie Coyle.

Transfer speculation has followed Drameh throughout his time at the club and he was recently linked with Championship trio Millwall, Preston North End and Stoke City.

Sky Sports have now thrown Sheffield United into the mix, claiming the Blades are among those interested in the former England youth international.

Sheffield United have Femi Seriki and Matt Doherty as right-back options, although Drameh is a versatile operator who can also play as a left-back or wing-back.

The report has claimed there have even been tentative enquiries from Premier League clubs regarding Drameh, who would supposedly prefer to stay put.

Cody Drameh’s career path

Drameh was nurtured by Fulham’s youth system before finishing his academy education in West Yorkshire with Leeds.

He was tipped for a bright future at Elland Road, starring in an under-23s side that also featured the likes of Charlie Cresswell, Crysencio Summerville and his current Hull teammate Joe Gelhardt.

Opportunities at first-team level proved limited for the defender, who was loaned out to Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City.

When he joined Hull in 2024, Drameh spoke of the “unstable” nature of his career to date.

He said: “I’m really happy to be here. It feels like it’s been coming for a bit of time for me. What attracted me was the owner and the interest the club showed in me.

“Everyone seemed like they really wanted me. It’s a pleasure to feel wanted and that was something that attracted me.

“It’s been a bit unstable for me - I’ve been around a lot - so now to finally settle down in Hull, and hopefully do some big things with Hull, is really nice.”
