Sheffield United looking to 'swing' chase for Leeds United, Hull City and QPR-linked winger

Sheffield United are reportedly looking to get ahead in the race for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi with the offer of a pay rise.

The 21-year-old has been at the centre of transfer speculation over the last month, with his future seemingly up in the air. An array of Championship clubs are believed to have expressed an interest in taking him on loan, while Southampton have reportedly eyed a permanent deal.

Sheffield United are among those said to be keen on a loan deal, while Hull City and Queens Park Rangers have also been linked. He has been named as a target for Leeds United, although the Whites now appear to be prioritising their pursuit of Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe.

According to transfer specialist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page, Sheffield United are willing to offer Rak-Sakyi a pay rise in order to lure him to Bramall Lane. He is believed to be on a relatively modest salary at Selhurst Park, as a product of the club’s academy.

Palace are reportedly still working out a loan fee, which QPR are said to be willing to stump up. Hull are also thought to be willing to find the funds before discussing personal terms.

Rak-Sakyi would arguably be a coup for any Championship club, considering he was in the frame at Palace before injury hampered his progress. He started the 2023/24 season as a regular fixture in the squad, having previously shone on loan at Charlton Athletic. However, injury stopped him continuing his progression up the Eagles pecking order.
