'Investments are made there' - Norwich City boss Philippe Clement addresses Sheffield United ambition
Norwich City will be facing an “ambitious” Sheffield United side at Carrow Road, according to Canaries boss Philippe Clement.
The 17th-placed Canaries are preparing to host Sheffield United tomorrow (March 11), keen to pump the brakes on the Blades resurgence.
A 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend left the South Yorkshire club disappointed, but they are still gunning for the Championship play-offs.
The club’s signifcant investment in the winter transfer window displayed their determination to prevent their season petering out, something Clement has referenced in his pre-match press conference.

Norwich City boss on Sheffield United ambition
As reported by The Pink Un’, Clement said: “They brought several experienced guys in January. They play in a similar style, took a lot of points and are very ambitious to go the play-offs.
“Chris [Wilder] is vocal about their ambitions. Investments are made there, if you can get England internationals into your squad.
“It will be an interesting game for everyone to watch - fans of Norwich, Sheffield United and neutral. It will be two teams who want to win.”
Preparing for a different challenge
Norwich have made huge strides since Clement replaced Liam Manning in the dugout and have built an 11-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone.
They will be looking to get back to winning ways against the Blades after being dumped out of the FA Cup by Leeds United at the weekend.

Clement said: “We focus on results, also to get players back. We miss a lot of our important players, who would be in the starting XI for a lot of people. Collectively and individually, we want to get better.
“Each game is a different challenge. Sheffield United are different to Leeds. We want to continue the positive story, with good results but also good football - not just by defending and hoping something falls out of the sky.”
