Holders Warrington defeated Super League leaders St Helens 20-18 at the AJ Bell Stadium earlier this afternoon to take their place in the semis where they now meet Salford Red Devils.

Wolves repeated last season's Wembley win over the same opponents with tries from Josh Charnley (2), Anthony Gelling and Matty Ashton helping them overcome an early 8-0 deficit.

Regan Grace and Kevin Naiqama scored either side of Charnley's second, but Lachlan Coote missed a difficult kick which would have forced extra-time.

The Challenge Cup semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday October 3, with the final on Saturday October 17.
