Leeds Rhinos reward coaches with long-term deals to secure backroom stability
Leeds Rhinos have underlined their commitment to continuity by rewarding assistant coaches Scott Grix and Jamie Langley with two-year contract extensions.
The pair will now remain at Headingley until at least the end of the 2028 campaign.
Grix joined Leeds full-time at the start of the 2023 season, while Langley returned to rugby league with the Rhinos at the end of last year.
Brad Arthur, whose own deal runs until the end of 2026 with a rolling contract beyond that, views Grix and Langley as integral members of his coaching team.
"Scott and Jamie are outstanding operators and key leaders in our environment," said the Rhinos boss. "Their knowledge, energy and connection with the players are huge assets."
Leeds have also appointed Marlon Billy as their new head of player welfare, a role he most recently held at Huddersfield Giants.
Academy physio Charlie Lowrie has been promoted to the first-team medical staff, while Mark Butterill takes up a new role as head of pathways talent ID and Darren Higgins becomes head of youth.
Simon Brown has taken control of the scholarship for 2026.

The new appointments form part of the plan to strengthen the club's foundations – and Blease says securing Grix and Langley was a key part of that strategy.
"I would like to welcome our new additions to our coaching group, adding to the talented team we already have," commented Blease, who has also secured the futures of leading players such as Ash Handley and Jake Connor since the end of last season. .
"Having continuity within our backroom staff enables us to build for the future whilst also adding talent to the group when opportunities arise.
"We’re delighted that Scott and Jamie have committed to new contracts. Their professionalism and expertise have been instrumental in the team's progression, particularly in bringing through young talent and driving high standards across the board.
"Stability in quality people is essential and these extensions reflect our belief in the coaching team we’ve assembled."
