Wakefield Trinity prop Emre Guler and Hull KR centre Peta Hiku discover disciplinary fate

Emre Guler's Old Trafford dream appears to be over after the Wakefield Trinity forward received a two-match ban for his punch in last week's play-off defeat of Leigh Leopards.

The former St George Illawarra Dragons prop brought forward his arrival to feature in the run-in, making four appearances for Daryl Powell's title hopefuls over the past month.

However, his rush of blood against Leigh has ended his season early, barring a successful appeal by Wakefield ahead of Saturday's semi-final at Wigan Warriors.

Guler was guilty of hitting out at opposite number Owen Trout while carrying the ball, earning him a red card at the time and a subsequent grade E charge that carries 17 penalty points.

Hull KR centre Peta Hiku has received the same punishment following a similar incident against Warrington Wolves.

The 33-year-old was given his marching orders after striking George Williams.

But whereas Guler is set to serve his two-game suspension in the play-offs, Hiku will carry his into next year following KR's elimination.
