In total, the team won 14 medals, and topped the medal board for both days they competed. Preparation began for the competition seven months ago and the team had to raise thousands of pounds to cover travel costs.

Coach June Higgins held an emotional celebration for the team on their return to their practice venue at High Green Miner's Welfare on Saturday.

She said: "We were not expecting any of the results so to come back with so many medals was wonderful.
