Driver who crashed into field after hitting speeds of 100mph with two flat tyres is jailed
A driver has been jailed after hitting speeds of 100mph in a car with two flat tyres - before crashing through a fence and into a field.
Jack Naisbett fled the scene of the crash but was arrested a short time later by officers from Cleveland Police.
Police were first alerted to Naisbett’s driving at around 10pm on June 12, when he was on Redcar High Street.
Naisbett was spotted in a silver Mercedes Benz by CCTV operators and despite officers attempting to stop him after getting into the vehicle, he drove off at speed despite pedestrians being nearby.
He continued to drive the car at speed, reaching up to 100mph, as well as driving on the wrong side of the road and running several red lights.
The 31-year-old was chased by police and a stinger was used, which caused two flat tyres, but he continued to drive at speed, narrowly missing pedestrians as he clipped the kerb.
Naisbett, of Woodhay Avenue in Middlesbrough, later lost control of the car and crashed through a fence and into a field. He ran away from the scene but was arrested a short time later after a foot chase.

On November 4, he was jailed for 42 months after admitting driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop a vehicle when required to by an officer and driving without a licence or insurance.
He was also jailed for causing serious injury by dangerous driving in a separate incident on 17 March 2025. It relates to Naisbett driving at speed directly towards a woman on Easby Court in Skelton.
Sergeant Chris Lindsey, from Cleveland Police’s Matrix team, said: “Naisbett’s actions that night showed no regard for other drivers and pedestrians who were at huge risk of being seriously injured, thankfully that didn’t happen.
“Officers tried numerous times to bring him to a stop, even deploying the stinger and he continued to travel along the road at almost 100mph – it was a very dangerous situation.
“Upon coming to a stop in the field, Naisbett continued his attempt to evade police however was caught and detained.
“He had no choice but to admit to what he did and face punishment. His sentence and the danger he placed on others that night should be a reminder to those who consider getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.”
