Doncaster Rovers 'in advanced talks' with ex-Hull City and Rotherham United winger Hakeeb Adelakun
League One strugglers Doncaster Rovers are reportedly in advanced talks with former Hull City and Rotherham United winger Hakeeb Adelakun.
A familiar face at the Eco-Power Stadium, Adelakun spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Doncaster.
He proved to be a shrewd loan signing from Lincoln City, registering nine goals and seven assists in 21 appearances.
His exploits helped Doncaster surge into the League Two play-offs, although they were dumped out at the semi-final stage by Crewe Alexandra.

There was persistent speculation regarding a permanent move that never materialised, with Adelakun instead linking up with Salford City.
He left the Ammies in the summer and after a short stint at Cheltenham Town, the 29-year-old is available once again.
Hakeeb Adelakun linked with Doncaster Rovers return
According to the Doncaster Free Press, talks regarding a move back to the Eco-Power are at an advanced stage.
A short-term arrangement running until the end of the season is said to be on the cards, even if nothing is concrete yet.
It now appears Adelakun could follow Bayley McCann and Darren Robinson through the door as a January addition.
Cheltenham Town exit
Adelakun’s stay at League Two outfit Cheltenham Town came to an end at the weekend and he signed off with a goal against Crawley Town.
Post-match, Cheltenham boss Steve Cotterill told Gloucestershire Live: “That was his last game for us. We know where he's going to end up.
“The only disappointing thing about that is, there hasn't been a phone call about it. It is what it is and there is not a lot we can do about it.

“He's a good lad, I've known him a long time and it looks like it's worked out well for both parties. He's now getting the move that perhaps he wants. Well obviously he does want it, or he wouldn't be going there."
Before linking up with Grant McCann at Doncaster, Adelakun played under the Northern Irishman at Hull. He also counts Rotherham among his former clubs, having been loaned to the Millers by Bristol City in 2020.
