Sheffield United and Coventry City talks over Gustavo Hamer 'continue' as stumbling block outlined
A fresh claim regarding Coventry City interest in Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer has emerged
Sheffield United and Coventry City are reportedly in ongoing talks regarding a potential deal for Gustavo Hamer - but are not thought to have agreed on a price.
The midfielder left Coventry for Sheffield United three years ago, stepping up to the Premier League with his move to South Yorkshire.
However, the roles are now reversed with the Sky Blues back in the top flight and the Blades now a Championship club.

Gustavo Hamer latest
Reports have suggested Coventry want Hamer back and Sky Sports have claimed the club are in ongoing talks over a deal.
Hamer is said to be keen on the move, but the report has claimed there is a gap in valuation. While this is a stumbling block, it is one Coventry could overcome by offering more money. Alternatively, the Sky Blues could look to weaken the Sheffield United resolve in negotiations by other means.
Coventry may well be keen on Hamer but Blades boss Chris Wilder is not planning for life without the 29-year-old just yet.
After playing Hamer in a friendly against German outfit VfL Bochum at the weekend, Wilder said: “Gus had a red-and-white shirt on today, You've seen his actions, you've seen his attitude towards the game.
“He's not come to me and said he doesn't want to play. There has been interest, of course. That's out there. But as far as I'm concerned, he's a Sheffield United player.”

Sheffield United in post-parachute payments era
Sheffield United are having to live without parachute payments having had their two year of post-relegation support.
Earlier this year, the club’s chief executive Stephen Bettis warned tough decisions may be required.
Hamer is not the only Blade to have been linked with an exit, as there has also been talk of Premier League interest in his fellow midfielder Sydie Peck.
