Harry Souttar 'stance' on Leicester City future outlined amid Sheffield United, West Ham and Stoke City links

Harry Souttar’s reported stance on his Leicester City future has been outlined amid Sheffield United transfer talk

Sheffield United-linked defender Harry Souttar would reportedly like to explore a move away from Leicester City.

The 27-year-old is no stranger to the Bramall Lane faithful having made 22 appearances for the Blades during the 2024/25 season.

A towering centre-back, he was loaned to South Yorkshire by Leicester and impressed before injury curtailed his campaign.

He returned from his lengthy lay-off in the dying embers of last season, which ended in relegation to League One for Leicester.

Sheffield United have been credited with interest in taking Souttar back, as have another of his former clubs in Stoke City.

There has also been talk of interest from West Ham United, who dropped out of the Premier League last term, and Wrexham.

A hefty fee of £10m has been mooted but Souttar’s reported stance could provide potential suitors with some motivation. According to The Star, the Australia international would like to seek pastures new this summer.

He is said to be keen on playing above League One level and it has been claimed he would be interested in a reunion with Sheffield United.

Souttar would be quite the coup for the Blades, although they would most likely need to fend off competitiors within their own division.

Chris Wilder on Harry Souttar

The younger brother of Rangers defender John, Souttar is a player with a confirmed admirer in Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder.

When he was lured to the Blades on loan in 2024, Wilder said: “His height and power are exactly what we've been looking for since we lost a couple of experienced heads, but with the loan market we have had to bide our time a little in order to get him here.

“Harry's still only 25 but he's been around a long time. He can handle the highest of levels as shown with his appearances for Australia, and again he's someone who knows this division and what is needed to be successful in it.”
