Sheffield Wednesday legend set to appear at Devonshire Green's Euro 2024 football village for England v Serbia

Sheffield Wednesday legend Chris Waddle will be a special guest at Devonshire Green’s Euro 2024 football village.

Devonshire Green in Sheffield is set to play host to a huge fan park this summer, which will show Euro 2024 matches on outdoor screens. There will be an array of street food on offer, as well as bars serving alcohol and soft drinks.

Named ‘Fan City’, the village will also offer live music and Q&A sessions with famous faces. Among those will be Waddle, who has been confirmed as the special guest for the screening of England’s clash with Serbia on Sunday, June 16.

Speaking about his appearance, Waddle said: “I'm hoping this is the year we end our trophy drought and crown ourselves as champions of Europe. It's going to be extra special coming back to Sheffield, where I spent four happy years as a player.”

The family-friendly village will have a capacity of 4,000 and open on Friday, June 14, for Scotland’s meeting with Germany. All games not involving England will be screened free of charge, whereas tickets will be required for matches involving the Three Lions. Tickets are set to go on sale on May 1 and VIP packages will also be available.

Following England’s tournament against opener, they will face Denmark and Slovenia in their remaining group stage fixtures.
