Supercomputer predicts League One table with Huddersfield Town & Barnsley twists and Wrexham & Birmingham City shocks

Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United were among the winners in League One over the weekend.

None of the division’s three Yorkshire clubs have made seamless starts to the 2024/25 campaign but it was a clean sweep of victories for the county. Not only did all three clubs win, they all did so by the same 2-0 scoreline.

Barnsley visited Shrewsbury Town, taking all three points back to South Yorkshire courtesy of goals from Max Watters and Jon Russell. Over at the New York Stadium, Steve Evans got one over on a former club as Rotherham defeated Stevenage.

In West Yorkshire, Huddersfield cruised to a 2-0 win over Exeter City. Matthew Pearson opened the scoring before Ben Wiles doubled the home advantage with a long-range strike.

Notable results elsewhere included a 2-2 draw between Charlton Athletic and Wrexham and a defeat at Lincoln City for Stockport County.
