North Yorkshire Moors Railway: Yorkshire heritage railway introduces Christmas train with a Bloody Merry Christmas services twist
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has added a new service to its lineup this festive season - A Bloody Merry Christmas hosted by Mad Alice of the Bloody Tour of York.
Visitors are invited for a yuletide journey on December 5 and 19, 2026; the hour-long heritage steam train journey at North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) will travel from Pickering to Levisham and back.
It will be transporting guests into a wonderfully wicked world with chilling ghost stories, sinister seasonal legends and tales of the macabre.

The train will depart at 6.30pm and Mad Alice will create an atmosphere of Gothic Christmas meeting Victoria ghost story.
On board, a wickedly playful Father Christmas grants wishes that visitors may come to regret asking for, and the twisted Bloody Sugar Plum Fairy will be making an unwelcome appearance.
Krampus, the horned Christmas nightmare, will be keeping a watchful eye on those who have made the naughty list.
For those looking for spookily festive fun, A Bloody Merry Christmas brings comedically horrifying moments and dark festive storytelling to life, creating an experience filled with laughter, festive frights and experiences.
CEO of NYMR, Laura Strangeway, said: “We can’t wait to welcome Mad Alice back for a wicked twist on the traditional Christmas experience this year with the Bloody Merry Christmas Express.
“We wanted to offer something that feels completely different to the traditional Christmas celebrations and excite visitors.
“From the moment guests step on board they can expect plenty of laughs and festive frights, all set against the atmospheric backdrop of the North York Moors.”
Tickets are £35 each for visitors over the age of 16, and due to the limited services, booking in advance is advised. You can book tickets on the NYMR website.
