Wolves 'closing in' on Middlesbrough FC, Burnley and West Ham-linked Jordan James as £1.7m loan deal 'agreed'
A Middlesbrough-linked midfielder appears to be closing in on a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Middlesbrough-linked midfielder Jordan James on loan.
The 22-year-old is on the books of French outfit Rennes but spent last season on loan at Leicester City. He weighed in with 11 league goals for the Foxes, although it was not enough to keep them in the Championship.
There has been talk of a move back to the second tier for James, who has made just 25 appearances for his current employers.

Jordan James latest
Middlesbrough have been credited with interest, as have West Ham United and Burnley, yet it is Wolves who appear to be leading the race for his signature.
Sky Sports have claimed the club are closing in on the midfielder’s signature having agreed a £1.7m loan deal.
The deal will reportedly include an option to make James’ move permanent for a fee of £8.6m.
A medical is thought to be underway, suggesting James could be on the verge of being unveiled as a new addition to the Wolves ranks.
Middlesbrough’s summer transfer business
Middlesbrough could miss out on James but Kim Hellberg’s midfield has been strengthened since the loss of Hayden Hackney to Everton earlier in the window.
Last month, the North Yorkshire club completed the permanent signing of USA international Sebastian Berhalter from Vancouver Whitecaps.

A total of eight new signings have been made by Middlesbrough, who have also signed the likes of defender Ashley Phillips, playmaker Myles Peart-Harris and forward Will Lankshear.
The latter fired Middlesbrough to a 2-1 win over Lincoln City in their Championship season opener with an impressibe brace.
Hellberg’s side are due to return to action on Saturday (August 22), visiting Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers.
