Former Sheffield United, Bradford City, Middlesbrough and Doncaster Rovers men set for free agent friendly test
Former Sheffield United, Bradford City and Doncaster Rovers men are set to face Manchester United under-21s as part of a squad of free agents.
The PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) are holding a residential pre-season camp for unattached players, helping them build fitness and try land a contract for the 2024/25 season.
A squad of out-of-contract players, featuring former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Kadeem Harris and ex-Sheffield United defender Ciaran Clark, travelled to non-league side Stratford Town last night (August 6).
Another squad is due to take on Manchester United’s under-21s this afternoon, with a raft of eye-catching names due to be involved. Both goalkeepers have connections to Yorkshire, with Jayson Leutwiler formerly of Middlesbrough and Luke Jackson formerly of Sheffield Wednesday.

Elsewhere, there are places in the squad for former Leeds United defender Paul Huntington and ex-Bradford City man Liam Ridehalgh. Among the most interesting inclusions is winger Hakeeb Adelakun, who lit up League Two with Doncaster Rovers last season.
Former Sheffield United playmaker Ravel Morrison is set to feature, as are a trio of fellow former Blades in Kieron Freeman, Jean Belehouan and Joe Starbuck.
