COLIN GRAVES’s comments – (that Yorkshire CCC was not institutionally racist, that any unacceptable language used by players in the past was nonaggressive “banter” from a different era, that he never personally witnessed any racism or was made aware of any racist complaints in his time as chairman) – and the reaction to those comments – highlights perfectly the irreconcilable disconnect between those who believe the fundamental truth of the racism story which brought down Yorkshire and those who do not, or at least doubt the extent of the problems adduced.
