My Local Democracy Reporter role covers the work of local authorities such as York Council, public bodies like the NHS, political issues and those which affect people and their local communities.
I started working at The Yorkshire Post in June 2024, joining in the run up to the general election so hitting the ground running. My career in journalism began at the Euro Weekly News expatriate newspaper in Spain before going on to work as a Local Democracy Reporter for the Hull Daily Mail for four years, covering the coronavirus pandemic and its aftermath among other notable issues.
I keep up to date with national and international politics and current affairs in my spare time. My passions include history, arts, culture and literature, films and travelling. I also enjoy walking and hiking and getting out into nature when I can.
