As assistant editor (features) at The Yorkshire Post my role is to contribute to and edit the features pages of the newspaper and website.

This also includes our health articles and our environment features, so it is a wide-ranging and interesting role.

I previously worked for The Star newspaper in Sheffield where I was a sports reporter for several years and found myself lucky enough to cover the London 2012 Olympics. I then moved on to be the newspaper’s night editor, which saw me involved in all aspects of editorial and production.

Away from work most of my time is taken up with my two teenage children who both play cricket for clubs in Yorkshire so I get to see every corner of our glorious county on a regular basis.
