Richard Hercock is a journalist of 30 years, having started out as news reporter on the Sutton Coldfield Observer in January 1991. He spent time as sports editor and deputy editor of the Walsall Advertiser, before joining The Yorkshire Post in 1997. As a sports journalist he has covered many major sporting events, from the Ryder Cup to US Open tennis, from Formula 1 to football and rugby league finals at Wembley.  Richard writes about football and snooker.
